February 2010 in a Nutshell

I noticed that I didn't post one blog in February so thought I would post one to update everyone what is going on in my life at the moment. This past month our family received some very sad news about my aunt Joan. She has been battling cancer for about 2 1/2 years now and it's getting near the end for her journey here on earth. She is about to go "home" and meet up with my grandparents again and with my brother, and that brings me much comfort. I know that I will have a huge hole in my heart when that time comes, as I will miss her so dearly. However; knowing she is going to Heaven for eternity brings me much hope and peace. The suffering she has endured will all end and she will also be at peace and that is an awesome gift we are all guaranteed if we BELIEVE!

Tristin got his plate and pins removed from his wrist this past month also. That little injury is hopefully behind us now!!! It was a long 5 months of dealing with it, and I so glad it's finally healed and we can move on from it.

I'm still cleaning houses and have gotten a couple of new clients so now I'm pretty much full. I think I have plenty to keep me busy with my job now. I really like that I can make my own hours and schedule and that it's part-time and pays me good enough to have extra money to do some fun things I enjoy and help pay some of the bills.

Got to spend some time with my niece and nephew this past month also. They are getting so big and they are learning all kinds of new things. They amaze me with their ability to learn and take in so much at that young of an age. They are so stinking cute and fun to be around, I love how each of their personalities are so different and they each have their own cute traits. I wish I lived closer to them, it seems I miss out of so much of their growing since I only get to see them about once a month if that. I really enjoy and cherish my time spent with them!!!!

Anyway this is what February 2010 had to offer. I continue praying for my dear aunt, and hope that March......and Spring have a lot of exciting things to offer!!!! I'm ready for SPRING and Flowers and SUNSHINE!!!!!

SICK TO MY STOMACH

I-POD NANO

So I bought my son this exact I-Pod Nano in black for Christmas. My decision to buy this for him was very hard and contemplative, because you see......my son is 14 yrs old and spending a $150 dollars on a single gadget isn't my style. I had him explain to me in full detail as to why he should get such an expensive item?? He assured me that he would be responsible and take very GOOD care of this little expensive gadget, and so after much debate with my husband we came to the conclusion that he could probably be a responsible teenager and take care of this.......did I mention EXPENSIVE GADGET........??? Well yesterday evening, Tristin asked me to wash a certain pair of jeans for him. Of course I said "yes, bring them to me now and I will put them in the washer." BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He forgot to take the I-Pod Nano out of his pants pocket. For some strange reason, after the washer had completely filled with water and was going through it's cycle, I asked Tristin, "where is your I-pod?" He states, "Oh my GOD, I think it's in the pants pocket of the jeans I just gave you to wash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sure enough, headphones floating on top of suds, and I-Pod laying in bottom of washer there was the I-POD NANO!! I was so upset that I thought I was going to puke right there in the washing machine. Tristin went to his room, in tears and began the process of mourning........You see I bought an extended warranty for the I-Pod, however; it doesn't cover submersion in water. So that said, I'm still sick to my stomach. I googled submersion of I-Pod Nano and to my surprise it seems to be a common problem. They suggest that if this happens to you, to get the I-Pod in a bag of dry rice immediately, thus helping it to dry out faster, so we did that and are hoping and praying that this method will work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that when we plug that sucker into the computer it turns back ON!!!!!!!!!!

New Color

So I did it! Yes I decided to go darker with my hair color! It has been so blond for so long, and I just really need to get my hair healthier so I have decided to go dark brown again. This is actually closer to my real hair color, but due to my grey, yes I said it.....grey hair...... this is going to be a little bit harder to manage, but that's okay with me! I also thought it would be a nice change for winter/and a new year. Change is good and hard at the same time but I'm ready for 2010, hoping it brings lots of lasting memories and good times!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

We made it past the 7 year itch, Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was my 7th wedding anniversary and I didn't get a post off because I've been so sick, so I thought I should today so I don't forget all together. 7 years ago, I married my best friend and love of my life!!! WOW 7 years, yet it seems just like yesterday when I said "I do" and it was the best day of my life! Justin is the most awesome husband a girl could ask for. We just get each other and have a great time being with one another. Whether it be watching football together, or just lazing around we always have a good time. So here's to another 7 years honey, I can't wait to find out where our journey will take us, as I know you will be by my side, through thick and thin, and until death due us part, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We made it past 7 years, the itch can now cease, hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Missing me some Bronco Blue!

For 3 years, during the football season my family and I would travel to Boise Idaho to watch the Boise State Broncos because my cousin was the starting quarterback!!! There just isn't anything like the atmosphere of Bronco stadium. The blue turf aka: "smurf turf" is just the most awesome place to be on a cold crisp Saturday afternoon watching the Broncos on their home turf! The smell of fresh popcorn, corn dogs, and the sound of BOOOISSSEEE STTAATTTEEE as the crowd screams with excitement gives me chills to this day. You see, I'm really missing this time of year, as my cousin has now moved on from Boise State, he's now playing in the CFL, leaves me with the excitement to watch the Broncos however, it's just not the same watching them on TV as it is actually being in the presence of Bronco Stadium, there is just nothing like it! The memories our family shares of those 3 years are ever embedded in my mind, I truly think they are some of the best memories our family will ever share, a time of complete joy for Jared making starting quarterback for the Broncos, and complete joy of our family in the stands watching him do amazing things, all the stories we will share throughout our times together, aawweeee Bronco Nation is something one must experience to truly ever understand it's meaning!!!!! GO BRONCOS, Blue and Orange we will forever bleed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 visits in 1 month

This hasn't been a very good month for me. Tristin ended up in the ER twice in one month. The weird thing about this is the fact that Tristin hasn't ever had to have stitches or broke a bone in his 13 years of existence so for us to end up in the ER twice in one month with him having to have stitches and a broken bone is just crazy. Is it because he is 13 now and he is becoming more of a dare devil? Whatever the case I really hope it stops, because this mama can't handle any more horrible telephone calls telling me that my boy is hurt!!!!!
This is the first injury. This was done while at the skate park riding his BMX bike. He decided that he was going to fly over a jump, thus he did successfully, however; crashing into a boulder on the other side of the jump. I know this is a horrible picture and it's not for the weak stomach. This little wound required 14 stitches, and 2 weeks of me nursing it back to healing. I was told that I'm a "very good nurse" thus got me thinking maybe a nursing degree is in my near future!

This is our second injury. This one not only landed us in the ER, but also in a day surgery. Tristin was on a mini vacation in the mountains over Labor Day and he decided to wreak an ATV on a sharp corner resulting in a fractured radius bone in his left wrist. This is a picture of him just after he got his IV, he is smiling because it wasn't nearly as horrible as he thought it was going to be.

He he is preparing to go into surgery. Isn't the hat too cute. I think he had just been given the "good" medicine in the IV, is why he is looking a little loopy!

Here he is after surgery. Notice his full cast from shoulder to finger tips. He will be in this for 6 weeks. He is finally getting used to it. At first I was his second hand, and I was worried that he was going to become totally dependent on me again, but he is getting along great now.

This has been a trying month for me. The injuries are bad, but when he was told that he wasn't going to get to play football this year, he had a complete meltdown. Tristin lives for football, and it's his very favorite sport, but he is adjusting. It's been hard for all of us, but we must remember we all make mistakes and by our mistakes we LIVE AND LEARN and life must go on. Hoping our month only gets better!!!
