New Color

So I did it! Yes I decided to go darker with my hair color! It has been so blond for so long, and I just really need to get my hair healthier so I have decided to go dark brown again. This is actually closer to my real hair color, but due to my grey, yes I said it.....grey hair...... this is going to be a little bit harder to manage, but that's okay with me! I also thought it would be a nice change for winter/and a new year. Change is good and hard at the same time but I'm ready for 2010, hoping it brings lots of lasting memories and good times!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

We made it past the 7 year itch, Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was my 7th wedding anniversary and I didn't get a post off because I've been so sick, so I thought I should today so I don't forget all together. 7 years ago, I married my best friend and love of my life!!! WOW 7 years, yet it seems just like yesterday when I said "I do" and it was the best day of my life! Justin is the most awesome husband a girl could ask for. We just get each other and have a great time being with one another. Whether it be watching football together, or just lazing around we always have a good time. So here's to another 7 years honey, I can't wait to find out where our journey will take us, as I know you will be by my side, through thick and thin, and until death due us part, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We made it past 7 years, the itch can now cease, hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Missing me some Bronco Blue!

For 3 years, during the football season my family and I would travel to Boise Idaho to watch the Boise State Broncos because my cousin was the starting quarterback!!! There just isn't anything like the atmosphere of Bronco stadium. The blue turf aka: "smurf turf" is just the most awesome place to be on a cold crisp Saturday afternoon watching the Broncos on their home turf! The smell of fresh popcorn, corn dogs, and the sound of BOOOISSSEEE STTAATTTEEE as the crowd screams with excitement gives me chills to this day. You see, I'm really missing this time of year, as my cousin has now moved on from Boise State, he's now playing in the CFL, leaves me with the excitement to watch the Broncos however, it's just not the same watching them on TV as it is actually being in the presence of Bronco Stadium, there is just nothing like it! The memories our family shares of those 3 years are ever embedded in my mind, I truly think they are some of the best memories our family will ever share, a time of complete joy for Jared making starting quarterback for the Broncos, and complete joy of our family in the stands watching him do amazing things, all the stories we will share throughout our times together, aawweeee Bronco Nation is something one must experience to truly ever understand it's meaning!!!!! GO BRONCOS, Blue and Orange we will forever bleed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 visits in 1 month

This hasn't been a very good month for me. Tristin ended up in the ER twice in one month. The weird thing about this is the fact that Tristin hasn't ever had to have stitches or broke a bone in his 13 years of existence so for us to end up in the ER twice in one month with him having to have stitches and a broken bone is just crazy. Is it because he is 13 now and he is becoming more of a dare devil? Whatever the case I really hope it stops, because this mama can't handle any more horrible telephone calls telling me that my boy is hurt!!!!!
This is the first injury. This was done while at the skate park riding his BMX bike. He decided that he was going to fly over a jump, thus he did successfully, however; crashing into a boulder on the other side of the jump. I know this is a horrible picture and it's not for the weak stomach. This little wound required 14 stitches, and 2 weeks of me nursing it back to healing. I was told that I'm a "very good nurse" thus got me thinking maybe a nursing degree is in my near future!

This is our second injury. This one not only landed us in the ER, but also in a day surgery. Tristin was on a mini vacation in the mountains over Labor Day and he decided to wreak an ATV on a sharp corner resulting in a fractured radius bone in his left wrist. This is a picture of him just after he got his IV, he is smiling because it wasn't nearly as horrible as he thought it was going to be.

He he is preparing to go into surgery. Isn't the hat too cute. I think he had just been given the "good" medicine in the IV, is why he is looking a little loopy!

Here he is after surgery. Notice his full cast from shoulder to finger tips. He will be in this for 6 weeks. He is finally getting used to it. At first I was his second hand, and I was worried that he was going to become totally dependent on me again, but he is getting along great now.

This has been a trying month for me. The injuries are bad, but when he was told that he wasn't going to get to play football this year, he had a complete meltdown. Tristin lives for football, and it's his very favorite sport, but he is adjusting. It's been hard for all of us, but we must remember we all make mistakes and by our mistakes we LIVE AND LEARN and life must go on. Hoping our month only gets better!!!

First day of 8th grade!

8th grade already?? Where has the time gone anyway? I remember the day Tristin came to live with us and it was really one of the best days of my life! He is such a good kid!! Kind, caring and so darn cute, isn't he :-)? Now he is at the top of his school being an 8th grader and all. It seems just like yesterday that he was going to 6th grade as a "middle schooler" and now he is almost 14 and growing up so fast. Somewhat sad yet very rewarding at the same time for me. He starts football today also, his very FAVORITE sport, as is mine too!! I can't wait to see what this year brings, he is feeling very excited and positive for this school year and I just hope his attitude will stay that way! As I was dropping him off today at school, he leaned over, gave me a quick kiss, told me he loved me and off he went, he melts my heart, what a great kid I have!!!! Happy 8th grade, can't wait to hear all about his day!!!!!!!

What a great smile T, that is what I love about this kid, always has a smile on his face that just lights up the room and the people around him! I've heard many times people tell him "what a great smile kid" I hope he never loses that SMILE :))))

I really like the idea of being able to pick the days I want to work and not work on the days I don't really feel like it! Back In P-town

Well as most of you already know I'm currently back in Pendleton. It has been a very long and stressful move back home. I really didn't think it would be very hard to find a place to live that was affordable and nice, but I had another thing coming! After a month and a half of searching everyday we finally found our little house. It's on North Hill in a nice neighborhood and it's very "homey." It's a 3 bedroom, with a full basement, or other wise known to my husband and son as the "man room" which is fine with me, they can escape to the basement and I will get to watch all of my shows on TV while they are playing!!!!! I never thought I would be happy to be back in Pendleton, but I'm thrilled that I get to be closer to my family, I mean in life, family is really the most important thing to me, so for that matter I'm happy to be home. I do not miss Nevada in the very least, I do miss some of the people that I met along the way, and of course seeing the sunshine everyday, but very glad that I didn't have to spend another minute in Hawthorne, leaving it in my rear view mirror was complete joy!!!! So here's to my time in P-town for I will not be here too long, just when I seem to get comfortable we will be getting that call again, TIME TO MOVE, and then the stress will start all over again, so for now I'm going to enjoy being HOME!!!

Farewell Nevada

We got news last week that Justin got orders from the government that we are moving again, and happily we are moving home!! Nevada has been an adventure and a time for change in many good ways. One must give up a little to gain a little, and now we are blessed to be going back to Oregon for a few more years until the Army Depot closes permanently. I'm going to miss my dear friends that I met while in Nevada, we truly are an Army family, and thank God we had each other!!!

In this photo: Jack, Amy, Chris, Me, Sammie, Shelia, Branden, and my hubby Justin.
Braden and Sammie, my peeps!

Samantha, I'm going to miss you girlie, we had a lot of fun together!

Jack our bartender/Margarita shaker!

Me and Shelia, my closest friend, we were wearing matching Mexico shirts, for our El' Presidente Margarita night!
Farewell friends, as I'm sure we will meet again somewhere along the QASSAS family lines. As our lives are going separate ways, good luck and thanks again for the memories we created in Nevada!!!

A Treasure

I have a new obsession, known as the art of Australian Locker Rug Hooking. I saw my aunt Jackie creating a neat rug last summer while I was camping with her, and it peaked my interest, and so the obsession began. It is made of scrap fabric cut into one inch strips, and then with a special tool, it is woven through a gridded canvas. I have made wonderful scrappy rugs, and this is my favorite patterned rug I made for my niece Madison. As you can see I stamped her name in the middle and made her a treasure that I hope she will cherish for a long time. Madison is very special to me because she is my first niece and she holds a very special place in my heart, and so on Valentine's day I wanted to give her something special and so this is what I made! She calls it her "isty" short for "Cristy" and she dances on it and carries it around with her where- ever she goes. This is a photo of her dancing on her new rug!

Scentsy

If you don't have one of these you better get one!! Let me explain, this has got to be one of the greatest inventions EVER!! This is an electric warmer with a 25 watt light bulb that heats the unique wax that is placed in the top of the warmer and it sends an amazing aroma throughout your home. The reason this is so awesome is due to the fact that you can leave this warmer on all day without the worry of burning down your house, unlike candles! I usually turn my warmer on when I wake up in the morning and leave it on until I go to bed at night. I can leave the house and never worry about "did I blow out that candle?" It is awesome and the variety of scents the wax come in are amazing, and they last longer than candles do. So if you don't have this, you are missing out, they are great gift for a friend or yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed!! Aaawwhh I smell blueberry cheesecake as we speak, yummy!

My Wiener Dogs.....

I have two wiener dogs and their names are Marley and Riley. Marley is the first one I got in Pendleton and she is considered a miniature Dapple as she has grey, brown and black spots, she is 2 years old. Riley is a standard miniature wiener dog and she is the red one, and Justin and I bought her in Oklahoma while Justin was going to school there, he thought he needed a friend while I was away! Riley is 1 years old. They both have very different personalities. Marley is more like an "old lady" while Riley is full of "piss and vinegar" and has a bark that hurts your ears!! Marley is more independent and Riley is a snuggle bug who thinks she has to be on my lap ALL of the time. I actually treat them as if they are human, they even sleep in my bed, I know Caesar you would be so disappointed in me, but when they give me those sad looking eyes I just can't resist them! Even though they are a pain sometimes, I love them dearly, they truly are part of our family and life just wouldn't be the same without them!!!
