Missing me some Bronco Blue!

For 3 years, during the football season my family and I would travel to Boise Idaho to watch the Boise State Broncos because my cousin was the starting quarterback!!! There just isn't anything like the atmosphere of Bronco stadium. The blue turf aka: "smurf turf" is just the most awesome place to be on a cold crisp Saturday afternoon watching the Broncos on their home turf! The smell of fresh popcorn, corn dogs, and the sound of BOOOISSSEEE STTAATTTEEE as the crowd screams with excitement gives me chills to this day. You see, I'm really missing this time of year, as my cousin has now moved on from Boise State, he's now playing in the CFL, leaves me with the excitement to watch the Broncos however, it's just not the same watching them on TV as it is actually being in the presence of Bronco Stadium, there is just nothing like it! The memories our family shares of those 3 years are ever embedded in my mind, I truly think they are some of the best memories our family will ever share, a time of complete joy for Jared making starting quarterback for the Broncos, and complete joy of our family in the stands watching him do amazing things, all the stories we will share throughout our times together, aawweeee Bronco Nation is something one must experience to truly ever understand it's meaning!!!!! GO BRONCOS, Blue and Orange we will forever bleed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 visits in 1 month

This hasn't been a very good month for me. Tristin ended up in the ER twice in one month. The weird thing about this is the fact that Tristin hasn't ever had to have stitches or broke a bone in his 13 years of existence so for us to end up in the ER twice in one month with him having to have stitches and a broken bone is just crazy. Is it because he is 13 now and he is becoming more of a dare devil? Whatever the case I really hope it stops, because this mama can't handle any more horrible telephone calls telling me that my boy is hurt!!!!!
This is the first injury. This was done while at the skate park riding his BMX bike. He decided that he was going to fly over a jump, thus he did successfully, however; crashing into a boulder on the other side of the jump. I know this is a horrible picture and it's not for the weak stomach. This little wound required 14 stitches, and 2 weeks of me nursing it back to healing. I was told that I'm a "very good nurse" thus got me thinking maybe a nursing degree is in my near future!

This is our second injury. This one not only landed us in the ER, but also in a day surgery. Tristin was on a mini vacation in the mountains over Labor Day and he decided to wreak an ATV on a sharp corner resulting in a fractured radius bone in his left wrist. This is a picture of him just after he got his IV, he is smiling because it wasn't nearly as horrible as he thought it was going to be.

He he is preparing to go into surgery. Isn't the hat too cute. I think he had just been given the "good" medicine in the IV, is why he is looking a little loopy!

Here he is after surgery. Notice his full cast from shoulder to finger tips. He will be in this for 6 weeks. He is finally getting used to it. At first I was his second hand, and I was worried that he was going to become totally dependent on me again, but he is getting along great now.

This has been a trying month for me. The injuries are bad, but when he was told that he wasn't going to get to play football this year, he had a complete meltdown. Tristin lives for football, and it's his very favorite sport, but he is adjusting. It's been hard for all of us, but we must remember we all make mistakes and by our mistakes we LIVE AND LEARN and life must go on. Hoping our month only gets better!!!

First day of 8th grade!

8th grade already?? Where has the time gone anyway? I remember the day Tristin came to live with us and it was really one of the best days of my life! He is such a good kid!! Kind, caring and so darn cute, isn't he :-)? Now he is at the top of his school being an 8th grader and all. It seems just like yesterday that he was going to 6th grade as a "middle schooler" and now he is almost 14 and growing up so fast. Somewhat sad yet very rewarding at the same time for me. He starts football today also, his very FAVORITE sport, as is mine too!! I can't wait to see what this year brings, he is feeling very excited and positive for this school year and I just hope his attitude will stay that way! As I was dropping him off today at school, he leaned over, gave me a quick kiss, told me he loved me and off he went, he melts my heart, what a great kid I have!!!! Happy 8th grade, can't wait to hear all about his day!!!!!!!

What a great smile T, that is what I love about this kid, always has a smile on his face that just lights up the room and the people around him! I've heard many times people tell him "what a great smile kid" I hope he never loses that SMILE :))))
